This year’s La Fête de la Musique will be strictly a private affair dedicated solely to the staffs and members of the Alliance Française de Gaborone.
The non-profit making organisation and cultural centre that promotes French and Botswana cultures, has this time around organised a private concert that will be headlined by Batswana artistes – Abigail Isa and Queen this Saturday 19th June 2021.
A member of the organising team, Robin Lamothe told The Pan Afrikanist that at the entire concert will however be broadcast on Facebook and Instagram Live for the benefit of the Alliance Française de Gaborone community that cannot attend physically owing to Covid 19 restrictions.
Abigail Isa and Queen’s live performance will be preceded by an online presentation of a French group singer and followed by an Open MIC session.
In addition to being a cultural centre that promotes French and Botswana cultures, Alliance Francaise de Gaborone also encourages local artists, promotes them at international level and preserves cultural and linguistic diversity.
Lamothe promised that the event will comply with all government rules and regulations as well as health protocols seeing that the country is in the middle of a pandemic.
