Russian envoy slams NATO for trying to create a neo-colonial division of the world through its “rules-based order”

The “collective West” has declared a total war against Russia, and it is hard to forecast how long this will last. But it is clear that its consequences will be felt by everyone without exception.

Russia did everything in its power to avoid a direct conflict, says Russia’s Ambassador to Botswana, His Excellency Andrey Kemarskiy, when addressing the local Press this week in Gaborone on the Russia-Ukraine war.

But this is not so much about Ukraine, which is being used as an instrument to contain the progressive development of the Russian Federation in their attempt to preserve a unipolar world order.

The Americans started preparing the current crisis long ago, right after the end of the Cold War, having decided that the way to global hegemony was then open. NATO’s eastward expansion has been one of the key components of such a course.

Russia tried hard to convince them not to do this. Russia showed where and why its red lines are drawn. Russia was flexible, ready to make concessions and look for compromises, but all these efforts were in vain.

What is being decided nowadays it is whether the world order will become fair, democratic and polycentric, or whether the small group of countries will be able to impose on the international community a neo-colonial division of the world.

This is the aim of the “rules-based order” concept that Americans wanted to introduce into general circulation for years. No one has seen, or discussed, or approved these “rules”, but they are being imposed on the international community.

This “order” foresees neither democracy, nor pluralism but the revival of tough bloc discipline and an unconditional submission of the “allies” to Washington’s diktat. The EU finally lost main characteristics of independence and obediently joined American plans to proclaim the unipolar world order, while sacrificing the Europeans’ key interests in order to please the United States.

In security matters, the EU is blending in with NATO, which claims about its global ambitions. The world is being told that NATO’s expansion is a defensive process and threatens no one.

But the Cold War defense line ran along the Berlin Wall and since then, it has been moved east five times. Today, they are telling us that NATO has a global responsibility to solve security problems in the Indo-Pacific region. So, the next defense line will be moved to the South China Sea.

It is being insinuated that NATO as the vanguard of the community of democracies should replace the UN in matters of international politics and the G7 should step in to run the global economy. Russia is not ready to accept such a development of events.

Western efforts to isolate Russia are hopeless. More and more countries want to have a real freedom to choose their development ways and integration projects to join. Those who have felt the effects of Western colonialism and racism have not joined the anti-Russia sanctions.

Western countries have destroyed their reputation of predictable partners. Nobody is safe from expropriation and “state piracy” now. Not only Russia but also many other countries are reducing their reliance on the US dollar and on Western technologies and markets. A gradual de-monopolization of the global economy is not a distant future.

Building closer ties with the like-minded forces is an absolutely inevitable and mutually driven process. The Russia-China relations are at their all-time high. Russia is also strengthening its privileged strategic partnerships with India, Algeria, and Egypt. Russia has taken to a whole new level its relations with the Persian Gulf countries and with other Middle East countries.
