The Pandamatenga Training Camp burst into a delightful celebration Thursday 14th July 2022 when the Botswana Defense Force Intake 78 graduated after six months of intensive training.

For the 307 graduates comprising 242 young men and 65 women, it was all smiles as they begin a new journey but for the BDF it was indeed another milestone and a historical moment. t

As the nation’s defense force the BDF continues to seek alternative ways to better serve Batswana.

Air Arm Commander, Major General H.T Rakgantswana expressed gratitude towards the training camp for continuing to produce some of the finest soldiers of the new generation.

He said the trainees have proved to be men and women in service uniform committed to a career of professional excellence in the defense of the nation.

“I am aware that they trained under adverse conditions of Covid-19 stricken environment and that alone has made their training a peculiar experience.

“The uncertainty that surrounded their training due to all the protocols and restrictions cannot be imagined, but on the other hand, we are more than elated to witness the successful completion of their course.”

The drill movements exhibited by intake 78 were beautiful to watch as they presented the discipline and commendable respect instilled in them. It showed their dedication and zeal for serving the nation and represented a hallmark of military tradition.

Major General Rakgantswana reminded the graduates that the legitimate expectation is for them to carry out their military duties with diligence and avoid behaviour that may tarnish the good image of the BDF.

He thanked the commandant and his formidable team of instructors for a sterling job of training the soldiers.

The families of the graduates stated how pleased they were to finally see their children emerging as winners and ready to serve the country.

One of the parents who shared the excitement was Gorewamang Bisheki who is a mother to Kago Bisheki.

“I am happy that my son is done. I pray God guides him,” she said. Kefilwe Bisheki who is Kago’s sister also chipped in to mention that her brother has uplifted the family’s dignity and she was thrilled to celebrate with him.
