India’s journey of transformation celebrated through Viksit Bharat Run 2025

The clouds gathered to prepare a beautiful atmosphere for the participants of the Viksit Bharat Run at the India House on 28th September 2025.

The race started at 7:30 am, and approximately 300 people participated, which is more than a marathon for the Indian community. It is a collective expression of their pride in India’s heritage, their faith in its future, and their commitment to contribute towards India’s growth and progress.

The Indian Community in Botswana joined more than 150 cities around the world in celebrating the progression of India and its shared vision of a Vikshit Bharat- a developed India by 2047.

“Organized as part of Seva Pakhwada, this initiative embodies the timeless spirit of Seva Bhav, a selfless service, which lies at the heart of Indian civilization.

As we run today, we do so with a purpose. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, India has made significant strides in technology, healthcare, education, infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital innovation. 

His vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat- self-reliant India- is inspiring people everywhere to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability while staying rooted in our culture and tradition,” said His Excellency, the Ambassador, Bathath Kumar.

The Run was a successful event with medals being awarded to:

Male Category

Gold – Harsh Champaneri

Silver – Shrikant Kumavat

Bronze –  Laljo Cassian

Female Category

Gold – Olorato from SOS

Silver- C. Mogae

Bronze – Keer Thana

“This race means a lot to me because it is part of my mission, and it makes me very proud to come in first place. I am used to running a lot, so I didn’t experience any challenge,” said Harsh Champaneri.
