Kelesitse Eternity

Neo-soul and theatre sensation Kelesitse Eternity is set to light up the Maitisong Festival stage with two highly anticipated performances on October 9 and 10 at Botswana Craft.

After staging a series of successful shows earlier this year that left audiences yearning for more, Kelesitse & Friends is back this time with a double feature.

“This time around, I’m going deeper. I’ll be performing some of my old favourites, but also sharing unreleased work that is very close to my heart,” Kelesitse shared.

“My performances are not just about entertainment; they are about connection. I want people to leave feeling seen, heard, and inspired.”

The celebrated poet and vocalist has previously staged successful performances both in Botswana and South Africa, cementing her reputation as one of the region’s most captivating live acts.

She is currently working on a European tour that will introduce her unique blend of music, poetry, and theatre to international audiences.

“I have always dreamed of performing on the same stage and festival that iconic artists such as the late Oliver Mtukudzi, veteran poet TJ Dema, and Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse have performed at. To be part of that legacy is truly humbling,” she said of her Maitisong debut.

Since its inception in 2018 at The Little Theatre, Kelesitse & Friends has grown into a cultural movement bringing together music and theatre lovers to converse, connect, and celebrate the stories that make us who we are.

With collaborations alongside DJ Mbuso of Soul Candi fame (“Sunshine”) and Leroy Nyoni (“A Poem for Poetry”), as well as her own original music, Kelesitse has consistently delivered unforgettable performances.

As a former lead actress in Donald Molosi’s acclaimed play Dear Zibanani, Kelesitse is renowned for her storytelling flair and stage presence.

“For me, Kelesitse & Friends is not just a show it’s a movement. It’s where our stories, our heritage, and our voices meet. To share this at Maitisong is truly special,” she added.

Festival-goers can expect two soul-stirring nights where art meets purpose, blending music, poetry, and theatre in a celebration of Botswana’s creative spirit.

This is one double date you don’t want to miss.
