Francistown, 27 May 2026 —The University of Botswana (UB) is showcasing its research, innovation and professional training programmes at the Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair (BBNTF), underscoring its role in driving economic diversification and skills development.

Held under the theme “Value Chain Revolution: From Local Resources to Global Market – Add Value, Build Markets, Grow Botswana,” the Fair provides UB with a platform to highlight its contribution to Botswana’s economic transformation agenda.

Dr Faith Rapuleng-Tuelo, Director of Public Affairs, said participation reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with industry, government and the private sector.

UIB is positioning its innovators across the entire economic landscape to impact society with their products and solutions

The university is also hosting a business meeting with stakeholders to promote professional development courses offered through its Department of Professional Education and Development.

The engagement aims to identify workforce skills gaps, promote continuous training and explore customised solutions for organisations. Dr Faith Rapuleng-Tuelo noted that dialogue on workforce transformation, innovation and productivity is critical for building resilient businesses and a competitive economy.

Another solution from the UNIPOD is ready for commercialisation

Dr Faith Rapuleng-Tuelo emphasised that leveraging national platforms such as the BBNTF allows UB to expand its impact beyond academia and reinforce its role as a catalyst for innovation, capacity building and sustainable socio‑economic development.
