GABORONE, July 10, 2026 – Honourable Dr. Phenyo Butale, Minister of International Relations, today participated in the Virtual Extraordinary 73rd Meeting of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG).
The session was chaired by Honourable Chris Fearne, Malta’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and brought together Foreign Ministers from Antigua and Barbuda, Botswana, Canada, Grenada, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Samoa and Zambia.
Discussions focused on political developments and issues of interest to the Commonwealth, ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for November 2026.
Established in 1995, CMAG plays a critical role in supporting member countries to uphold the Commonwealth’s fundamental values, including good governance, democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights.
