DoDigi: A digital solution for SMMEs in low income communities

From mid April the Dodigi, in partnership with the Dream Factory Foundation and Meeticks, will be giving an amazing opportunity to 60 business owners who would like to grow their business. The program aims to mitigate losses and closures of business due to curfews, lockdowns and restrictions in communities as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

DoDigi is a free12-week training and mentoring program for entrepreneurs focused on the Digital Economy, where at the end of the course, participants will have their products and/or services available for purchase online for greater access to market.

Through the recognition of the current digital age; our beneficiaries are trained in digital technologies so that they can use the Meeticks platform as well as other digital platforms effectively, bridging the gap between those with access to technology and those without.

Our beneficiaries, who are at least 60% women, are able to market their businesses, connect with potential customers and suppliers thereby increasing their opportunities of making sales and thereby increasing their income and business’s ability to continue operating.

This training will also help them to get national,continental & international markets; as well as a opportunity to win P10 000

To be eligible, you need to be between the ages of20 – 40, have a business offering either a product or service.

  1. Meeticks (Pty) Ltd

As project partners both Dream Factory Foundation and Meeticks have run projects in their respective areas of speciality, and are now working together toempower usually marginalised entrepreneurs in the Cape Flats townships of Cape Town, South Africa, and the youth business community in Francistown, Botswana, with possibilities for synergies between the two countries.

SAIS is a regional initiative that supports the growth of new businesses through strengthening innovation ecosystems and promotion of cross-border collaboration between innovation role-players in Southern Africa. The Programme focuses on strengthening early-stage enterprises and young entrepreneurs, connecting innovation ecosystems, and promoting innovations serving socially or economically disadvantaged populations. The overall objective of SAIS2 is “enhanced regional innovation cooperation and national innovation systems contributing to inclusive business and development.
