Botswana hosts National Day activities at Expo2020 Dubai


Botswana is on the final push t court investors from across the globe at the Expo2020 Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) six months spectacle that has brought together over 190 countries.

The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), which is hosting a slew of local investors at the expo, says that Botswana’s participation over the six months was premised on different themes, where different sectors were promoted through collaborations with different stakeholders, both Government and private sector.

These sectors include Mining and beneficiation, Innovation, Tourism, Arts and Culture and Agriculture/Foods of Botswana.

As the expo draws to a close at the end of this month, the Botswana National Day is scheduled for 13th March 2022 and as part of the Botswana Month at the Expo2020Dubai, Botswana will host different events to showcase different sectors and aspects of Botswana.

Each country is afforded a National Day at the Expo where the spotlight is fixed on that particular country and Botswana will get this opportunity to showcase herself to a global audience.


The Botswana delegation at the Expo2020Dubai national day activities will be led by the President, Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi and will comprise of Ministers, senior government officials, private sector as well as performing artists from Botswana.


The Business seminars and Investment conference will bring together business delegations from Botswana and the UAE to explore opportunities for investment, collaborations and partnerships.

According to Kutlo Moagi, the Executive Director , Brand Management, the planned Botswana Month activities are as follows:

8th March 2022 (Invest Botswana Business Seminar), the focus being on Agriculture/Agribusinesses with the Theme: Effective Food Security Strategies in Botswana. This seminar will be headlined by the Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security Karabo. Socrates Gare.


10th March 2022 (Invest Botswana Business Seminar) the focus being Mining and Beneficiation under the Theme: Mining and Minerals for Economic Growth, Development & Job Creation.

This seminar will be headlined by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology & Energy Security Lefoko Moagi.

13th March 2022 will feature the Botswana Day official programming headlined by the President of the Republic, Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi and will include:


0800hrs – 0900hrs: Botswana Day official event
1255hrs- 1355hrs: Botswana National Day Cultural Parade
1600hrs-17000hrs: Music in the Garden Cultural performance
1900hrs – 2200hrs: Botswana Cultural Night
Headlined by His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi

On the 14th March 2022 the Botswana Investment and Trade Conference
will focus on Doing Business with Botswana with the Theme: Sustained Growth through Inclusive and Innovative Investments.


This conference also be headlined by the President Dr. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi
