Gaborone — The Cuban Ambassador to Botswana, Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre, recently paid a courtesy call on the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic’s Ambassador, Sidihiba Abdala.
During the fraternal meeting, the two envoys exchanged views on the political and socio-economic situations in their respective countries, as well as broader international issues of mutual concern.
Ambassadors Pubillones and Abdala congratulated each other on presenting their Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana, on the same day. Both expressed best wishes for success in their diplomatic missions.

Ambassador Abdala extended gratitude to the Cuban government and people for their steadfast support of the Sahrawi struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity. In turn, Ambassador Pubillones acknowledged the solidarity of the Sahrawi people with Cuba in its long-standing resistance against the U.S. blockade, reaffirming that Cuba will continue to stand by its Sahrawi brothers and sisters.
The meeting underscored the enduring bonds of friendship and solidarity between Cuba and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, highlighting shared commitments to sovereignty, dignity, and international cooperation.
