Dream Factory Foundation and Meeticks in partnership with The Southern Africa Innovation Support Programme are pleased to announce the list of the successful candidates selected to be part of a digitally innovative and empowering program called “DoDigi”.
The 36 selected entrepreneurs from Botswana were among many who applied for the program. DoDigi will help grow and propel local businesses to greater heights. The program aims to mitigate losses and closures of business due to curfews, lockdowns and restrictions in communities as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
DoDigi is a free 12-week training and mentoring program that will provide participants with a dedicated support team where they will have access to funding, training, networking and visibility for their enterprises online.
The beneficiaries, who are at least 60% women, are able to market their businesses, connect with potential customers and suppliers thereby increasing their opportunities of making sales and thereby increasing their income and business’ ability to continue operating.
The training will also help them to get national, continental & international markets; as well as an opportunity to win P10 000. The first part of the program is Emergent Academy– which is a virtual and authentic learning experience for young entrepreneurs seeking to develop their understanding of digital technologies, the digital economy as well as resilience-building as a purpose-driven entrepreneur.
The second part of the program is practical, where the entrepreneurs will implement the new knowledge received and apply it in their ventures. By the end of the program, participants will have a strong online presence, with their products and services placed onboarded on the Meeticks platform
The entrepreneurs come from different backgrounds who, in relation to their business, seek to penetrate diverse sectors. of the digital economy. They are between the ages of 20 and 40 years old and have started their business no less than 12 months ago.
The Dream Factory Foundation welcomes the enthusiasm, resilience, energy, creativity, and professionalism of these brave 36 Entrepreneurs who are willing to go through whatever it takes to protect and grow their businesses.
Dodigi in partnership with Meeticks and Dream Factory Foundation is proud to provide practical and short-term support, so that these agents of change can bring their digital solutions to the citizens of Africa and to contribute positively towards their economy.
