Accra, Ghana — In a bold move to unify the African continent, the Trans African Tourism & Unity Campaign, spearheaded by Ghanaian broadcaster and former MP Ras Mubarak, is set to launch a historic 120-day road journey promoting visa-free travel for African citizens.
Starting August 18, 2025, a diverse team of 11, including political activist Eryk Agyapong and Ghana Television personnel, will depart from Accra to traverse 39 African countries—covering over 38,000 kilometers. This sweeping initiative aims to build support for a policy aligned with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and Protocol on the Free Movement of Persons.
Ghana Leads the Charge
Endorsed by the Government of Ghana, the campaign seeks to eliminate travel barriers, foster continental economic integration, and showcase Africa’s rich cultural tapestry. Stops will include key nations such as Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Morocco, with scheduled meetings with heads of state and regional leaders.

Driving Unity Through Tourism
The journey will highlight Africa’s vibrant tourism sector and call for collaborative action from businesses, media, and the diaspora. Kenya’s adoption of visa-free travel is hailed as a model, proof that unity is attainable through progressive policy.

With support from major outlets—including Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, South African Broadcasting Corporation, Channels Television, Asaase Radio, Graphic Communications Group, Radio Gold, Liberia Broadcasting System, among others—the campaign’s message of #OpenAfrica #OpenOpportunities will reach millions, inspiring a movement for collective African action.
