UN security Council in session

“They have not contacted us about any document yet. I believe that the statement by Mali’s representative was powerful and self-explanatory.

“In my opinion, at this stage, it is sufficient, and we will monitor the situation as it develops,” Dmitry Polyansky told the Russian media.

Earlier on Friday, Issa Konfourou, Mali’s Permanent Representative to the UN, declared at a UNSC meeting that a significant part of weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine are ending up in the Sahel region, contributing to increased crime and terrorism.

“We requested to participate in this meeting to express our serious concerns about the consequences of weapons deliveries to Ukraine.

“It was clearly established that a significant portion of the weapons sent to Ukraine ultimately fuels terrorism and crime in the Sahel region. This risks further destabilization of the situation,” he said.

BRICS exploring common goals for diversifying currency reserves – Russia’s deputy finance minister

“These consultations are ongoing; however, no final decisions have been made yet,” Ivan Chebeskov told Russian media on the sidelines of the BRICS New Development Bank’s Board of Governors meeting, currently taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.

In his address at the NDB Board of Governors session, Chebeskov noted that the bank’s model should become more independent from the West, including through the broader use of national currencies.

It is expected that a range of assets from BRICS member countries might serve as alternatives to American and European securities
