Gaborone – 30 April 2026 – President Advocate Duma Boko has received the long-awaited forensic audit report, marking a decisive transition from anti-corruption pledges to active enforcement.
The audit, conducted by Alvarez & Marsal Middle East Limited at a cost of $4.5 million (P61 million), profiled risks across ministries, departments, state-owned enterprises, and oversight bodies, with detailed reviews of thirty entities.

While the 30 audits will not be made public, Project Steering Committee Chairman Moses Pelaelo confirmed they will be referred to relevant authorities to preserve the integrity of investigations, prosecutions, and asset recovery.
President Boko pledged robust action, stressing that offenders will be prosecuted “without fear or favour” as the government moves to restore integrity, enforce accountability, and rebuild public trust.

Receiving the report at the Office of the President on Thursday 30th April 2026, President Boko vowed:
“We have just been presented with the Forensic Audit Report. The real work begins now. This is the moment to cleanse our nation, to root out corruption and dismantle every form of malpractice that has weakened our institutions.
This is not a campaign against individuals; it is a firm, principled stand against wrongdoing, and every offender will be pursued and prosecuted without fear or favour.
The government will act robustly and relentlessly. We will restore integrity, enforce accountability, and ensure that public trust is never betrayed again.

The law will take its course, decisively, fairly, and without compromise.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the forensic team for their diligence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth”.
