The 3rd Session in Gaborone was convened to take stock of the progress made in the implementation of decisions of the 2nd Session which explored enhanced cooperation in the areas of health; investment and trade; energy; as well as defence and security.

Some of the key milestones realised from the Political Consultations have among others included, the signing of the Visa Abolition Agreement in July 2022 and the 2010 Agreement on Technical Cooperation on Beef Cattle Production System in Botswana.

Botswana and Brazil established diplomatic relations in 1985. Since then, the two countries, as members of the Global South, have enjoyed close ties and friendship.

Brazil established a resident Mission in Botswana in 2007 and subsequently in 2009, Botswana established a resident Mission in Brazil.
