Tutume, Botswana – July 8, 2026 – First National Bank Botswana (FNB Botswana) has opened a new branch in Tutume as part of its strategy to bring full-service banking closer to communities across the country.

The branch, launched on Monday, offers transactional banking, lending, savings, investments and insurance services, reducing the need for residents of Tutume and surrounding villages to travel to Francistown for everyday banking.

It complements existing alternative channels such as CashPlus agents, ATMs and the Bank on Wheels service. FNB Botswana Retail Banking Executive Monkgogi Mogorosi said the investment underscores the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion.

“The opening of Tutume Branch is a significant milestone in our strategy to bring banking closer to where our clients live and do business. We are making it easier for individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses in Tutume and neighbouring villages to access the financial solutions they need to grow and prosper,” Mogorosi said.

Tutume, one of Botswana’s largest villages, serves a wider catchment area in the Central District with an estimated population of 165,000. The new branch is expected to ease congestion at Francistown Branch while strengthening relationships with retail and SME clients in the region.

Mogorosi added that the permanent branch will deliver a more comprehensive banking experience.

“Our goal is not only to increase the bank’s footprint but to improve convenience, financial inclusion and client experience. We invite the people of Tutume and the surrounding areas to visit the new branch and discover how our solutions can help them achieve their personal and business ambitions,” she said.
