Kebone Lebone Investments PTY LTD is a professional Broadcast Integrator based in Mochudi, 4 km north of the capital, Gaborone.

It offers Technical and Business Consultancy System Design, Project Management, System Integration, System Analysis, Training, and Technical Support.

Its services and innovations cut across all areas of broadcasting, media production, content creation, and distribution.

The company focuses exclusively on high-quality and cost-effective Broadcast solutions and services.

Kebone Lebone was formed in 2016 as an ICT company but things were so slow to get it off the ground and fully operational.

In 2017 Boineelo Pheto tried getting into the Internet café business to push sales and maintain the business since people seemed not to have much need for ICT services at the time.

In 2016 she registered other businesses under Kebone Lebone, among them, Neelo Fitness and Wellness Club.

It was inspired by the fact that Boineelo was marketing herbal life and decided she would need a fully functional village gym to sustain her business.

She also opened Neelo Car Wash to diversify her income streams since the ICT business was not giving her the market she needed and results.

Kebone Lebone has been running for five (5) years now but the original motives for the business, which is ICT and business development, started last only a year in March during the lockdown.

At that time she identified many opportunities emerging in the IT business and in 2021 finally discovered multimedia and live streaming business.

She immediately jumped right into the hype. So far Boineelo has live-streamed at numerous funerals and memorial services. She also provides a sound system as part of a complete live streaming package.

Since the business is relatively new and much of the income is from live streaming, Boineelo was forced to do freelance photography especially if there is a complex set-up where integrated systems are used.

But in most cases, she works alone. The thing that really helps with the organisational structure of the business is the partnership she has with Studio App and the system development business that offers system design and an online platform.

Her role with them is to be a system analyst and with her diverse sales and marketing self-taught background she also cooperates with them in that area.

They are silent partners in most systems that they sell but create business opportunities for other individuals.

Boineelo studied Software Engineering at Limko and also studied Information Technology majoring in business development application at the Vaal University of Technology.

She has 2 CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certifications. Boineelo loves ICT so much and has been exposed to it since primary school and also in business.

It was easy for her to start the live streaming and multimedia businesses. Her best friend lost her dad and she sent her a link to watch the live streaming and Boineelo felt she could change a few things to improve it.

“There were a lot of technical errors that were basic that I saw and I didn’t think twice, I talked to a friend who had a mobile router and I paid her each time I got a job and I also had a friend who also rents cameras.

“Other skills on social media page management, designing graphics are skills that I learned through my ICT career”, Boineelo said.

Since she started the business in 2016 Boineelo has helped about 10 families. However, she doesn’t permanently hire employees but just freelances with them.

Level marketing has taught her a lot in terms of payment structures and how SMMEs lose money in hiring permanent staff. In future, she will still follow this structure.

In terms of social development throughout the years, she has sponsored Miss Independence Kgatleng. She has also done charity work and has a family that she has chosen to help out. Furthermore, she also has partnered with Dinokeng business expo, and Modville Fitness club, on charity-related issues.

“Unlike other businesses Covid-19 has brought a positive impact in my business. Should it not have been covid-19, I wouldn’t have seen Live streaming as a lucrative business.

“Before Covid main activities were wellness days and wellness activities and that market dropped drastically when Covid started and the ICT market grew that is where I saw the gap and jumped right in”, Boineelo stated.

At present her business is up and down, unable to penetrate into corporates, and is still learning the diverse ICT world.

Moreover, freelancers dropping her at the last minute or having unnecessary disagreements is a challenge to her. Nevertheless, she has learned to turn her challenges into lessons and opportunities and that has helped her to grow over the years.

Being able to provide for her family, reach her sales targets, and to basically be able to contribute in her country’s economy are some of the achievements she takes pride in.

Boineelo’s live streaming includes live streaming for funerals, memorial services, corporate events, weddings, baby showers, and bridal showers, and any other event that needs live streaming.

She mostly uses Facebook as her social media platform for live streaming because it is free and easy to access and easy to manage.

Her target market is broad, in the sense that she looks at dominating the live streaming and multimedia world, it could be from small kids to adults.

She feels that there are just so many opportunities in the live streaming and multimedia business. One just has to think out of the box.

She has not yet live-streamed events in rural places but she is currently in conversations with a big business organisation to start a project on documenting and live streaming for businesses across Botswana.

Kebone Lebone’s mission is to achieve the reputation of a quality, high standard, and reliable solution in Broadcast Technology.

Its vision is to achieve 100% customer satisfaction by delivering its services and innovation at an affordable cost.
