On July 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Cholpon‑Ata, Kyrgyzstan, for wide‑ranging talks on bilateral and international issues.

The two ministers hailed the “unprecedented high level” of Russian‑Chinese relations, describing them as a comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction.

They noted that the Treaty on Good‑Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation — marking its 25th anniversary this year — continues to serve as the foundation of their ties.

Moscow and Beijing are commemorating the milestone through joint events organised by their diplomatic missions worldwide.

Lavrov and Wang Yi reviewed progress in political dialogue, practical cooperation, and humanitarian exchanges, with emphasis on implementing agreements reached during President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to China in May.
