Telecoms powerhouse Orange Botswana has once again staked its claim as a driving force in local sports development, announcing a P32,000 sponsorship for the high-octane Gabs 7s Rugby International Tournament taking place this Saturday at Duma FM grounds.

The tournament will see top rugby clubs from Lesotho, Zambia, South Africa, and Botswana battling it out for glory, and Orange Botswana is right in the thick of the action, powering the event through its robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive.

“This partnership is about more than just sponsoring a tournament; it’s about creating opportunities, inspiring youth, and uniting communities through sport,” said Tebogo Nadisah, PR and Communication Manager at Orange Botswana.

Through its involvement, Orange Botswana is igniting community spirit by investing in a major local tournament that unites youth and fans from all corners.

The company is promoting health and wellness by inspiring physical activity and a healthy lifestyle through sport and growing local talent by backing homegrown rugby stars and fuelling their rise to international stages.

“We believe sport is a powerful platform for driving inclusion and empowering the next generation of athletes, both on and off the field,” Nadisah added, highlighting the brand’s dedication to sports development.

Orange Botswana has previously backed the Gabs 7s Tournament and has also been behind iconic tournaments such as the Orange FA Cup and the Olympic Games Team Botswana.

“Our continued support for events like the Gabs 7s reflects our long-term commitment to building a vibrant sporting culture in Botswana,” Nadisah said. “We are proud to stand with our players as they chase greatness.”

With this P32,000 boost, Orange Botswana is not just sponsoring rugby; it’s powering dreams, shaping champions, and cementing its place as the anchor of sports development in Botswana.
