Orange Botswana has launched a new customer promotion worth P1.1 million as its Orange Money service marks 15 years in operation.

The campaign, branded Top’a o Pop’e, will run nationwide and offers daily, weekly and monthly prizes, including a grand prize of P150,000. Customers qualify by topping up airtime, purchasing bundles, or subscribing to Konnecta through the Max It App or by dialling *145#.

Orange Money was introduced in 2011 as a mobile wallet and has since grown to serve more than 1.3 million customers. Company officials say the platform has become a key player in Botswana’s digital financial services sector.

At the launch, Orange Money Commercial and Marketing Director Gazza Motswagole said the initiative is part of efforts to encourage greater use of digital financial services. He noted that Gaborone City Council and the Botswana Stock Exchange have been engaged to present the promotion to local authorities.

The campaign will be supported by live draws, digital activations and community events.

Orange Money’s 15‑year milestone comes as the company continues to expand its agent and merchant network and explore new services in line with Botswana’s broader financial inclusion agenda.

“This anniversary is not just a celebration of our journey, but of our customers who have made it possible. Orange Money has grown into one of the most trusted and widely used financial platforms in Botswana, with millions of transactions flowing seamlessly through our ecosystem every year. What stands out the most is not just the scale of the numbers, but the depth of inclusion they represent, from urban centres to the most remote communities. That transformation is the true meaning of success,” said Motswagole.

Built around the theme “A Giant Built Together,” the Orange Money Top’a o Pop’e Promotion serves as a heartfelt thank you to Batswana for 15 years of trust, loyalty and partnership. Customers stand a chance to win by using Orange Money to top up airtime worth P30 or more, purchasing bundles worth P20 or more, or subscribing to Konnecta through the Max It App or by dialing *145#.

The promotion features daily & weekly cash prizes, monthly golden prizes, and a grand prize of P150,000, giving customers multiple opportunities to win throughout the campaign period.

Reflecting on the milestone, Motswagole highlighted Orange Money’s role in reshaping the country’s financial landscape over the past decade and a half.

“Fifteen years ago, we set out to redefine how Botswana transacts by making financial services simpler, faster and more inclusive. Today, as Orange Money Botswana celebrates this important milestone, we are proud of the role we have played in the everyday financial lives of Batswana. You helped us build this giant over the last 15 years; now let us reward your every transaction.”

Beyond the prize giveaways, the Top’a o Pop’e Promotion will be supported by nationwide activations, live draws, digital engagements, influencer collaborations and community experiences designed to bring customers closer to the celebration and the Orange Money brand.

Motswagole said the company’s success has been driven by a deliberate focus on accessibility, innovation and customer needs.

“Our approach has always been deliberate and people-centred: investing in accessibility, expanding our merchant and agent network, and continuously innovating to meet our customers where they are, in ways that are relevant to their daily lives. Ultimately, our strategy is not defined by technology alone, but by the impact it creates in the lives of our customers and communities.”

As Orange Money celebrates 15 years of growth and innovation, the Orange Money Top’a o Pop’e Promotion stands as both a celebration of past achievements and a reaffirmation of the company’s commitment to building a more inclusive digital financial future for Botswana
