Vivo Energy Botswana hosts Pink Wellness Day to promote cancer awareness

PRESS RELEASE

  • Creating safe spaces for conversations about health

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Vivo Energy Botswana hosted a Pink Wellness Day at Joy City Park over the weekend, bringing together employees, stakeholders, and health experts for a day dedicated to education and wellness.

The event, held under the banner of #fuelherfight, aimed to raise awareness of breast cancer, promote early detection, and encourage holistic health among attendees. It featured a series of engaging activities and wellness sessions that underscored the company’s ongoing commitment to community well-being.

One of the highlights of the day was a presentation by Riverside Clinic, whose medical professionals conducted health screenings and led discussions on understanding cancer and the importance of regular check-ups. Representatives from the Cancer Association of Botswana were also in attendance, offering valuable insights into cancer stages, available treatments, and patient support systems.

Speaking at the event, Vivo Energy Botswana Marketing Manager, Gaamangwe Ramokgothwane said: “Pink Wellness Day is part of the company’s broader effort to use its platforms to make a positive social impact.

At Vivo Energy Botswana, we believe that wellness goes beyond the workplace, our Pink October activities are about empowering individuals with knowledge, encouraging early detection, and creating safe spaces for conversations about health. We are proud to stand alongside our partners and the wider community in the fight against cancer.”

The event concluded with a relaxing yoga session, providing participants an opportunity to unwind and reflect on the importance of both physical and mental health.

At Vivo Energy Botswana, Safety and Caring are two of our core values. Ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, customers and communities and demonstrating care, empathy and compassion are key priorities for us.

The Pink Wellness Day reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting national and global health awareness campaigns through meaningful engagement and collaboration.
