SPECIAL ENVOY OF ALGERIA’S PRESIDENT VISITS BOTSWANA

Algeria continues to show its commitment to maintaining and strengthening its relationship with Botswana.

This was demonstrated on the 30th of January 2025 by the visit of the Special Envoy of His Excellency Mr. Abdelmajid Tebboune, President of the Democratic Republic of Algeria to His Excellency Adv. Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana.

“We are most delighted to have you here. It is always a source of great pleasure to deal with anybody from Algeria. From the African continent, I know you are occupying a very special place.

“Certainly for us, you are a sign of Africa. You have produced some of the finest activists, even philosophers. You have influenced thinking about our future and some of it,” His Excellency Adv. Duma Boko said as he welcomed Mr. Mohamed Meziane, Minister of Communications.

Hon. Mr. Meziane expressed interest in working further with Botswana in terms of their bilateral relations and went further to introduce Ambassador Selma Malika Haddadi, the Algerian candidate for the position of Vice Chair for the African Union Commission.

The elections for the African Union Commission’s top positions are scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 15 to 16 February 2025.

The Algerian Embassy which was officially opened on August 2022 and under the current leadership of His Excellency Mr. Abdelmalek Tigharghar continues to thrive and work tirelessly to strengthen the excellent bilateral relations in a spirit of solidarity.
