HB Academy cohort

Gaborone, Botswana – August 12, 2025 – HB is proud to welcome a new cohort into the HB Academy training program in Botswana, which began on Monday, August 11.

HB Botswana’s Communications Director, Omogolo Mathumo, lauded this milestone, saying it reinforces HB’s long-term commitment to invest in developing Botswana’s local talent and strengthening the country’s role in the global diamond industry.

The Academy’s intensive 12-week course is tailored for individuals with no prior experience in the industry. It begins with one week of classroom-based learning, covering the diamond fundamentals, cutting techniques, and industry standards.

This is followed by eleven weeks of hands-on training using HB’s proprietary polishing technology— giving students direct exposure to the advanced tools and practices used in modern diamond manufacturing at HB.

Graduates of the HB Academy receive continued mentorship and support after completing the program — accelerating their skills and opening pathways for growth within HB and across the diamond industry.

By equipping local talent with advanced technical skills and long-term professional support, the HB Academy is playing a vital role in the sustainable growth of Botswana’s diamond sector.

This initiative not only strengthens HB’s operations but also ensures that value creation remains rooted in the communities where diamonds are sourced.

About HB

HB is a pioneering force in diamond transformation, dedicated to unlocking the full potential of the world’s most precious stones through cutting-edge technology and unparalleled expertise.
