FNB Botswana Celebrates Greatness with Crowning of 2025_26 FNB Premiership Champions

Gaborone, 23 May 2026 — Gaborone United cemented their dominance in Botswana football on Saturday as they lifted the 2025/26 FNB Premiership trophy for a second consecutive season, pocketing a winners’ cheque of P1.4 million from league sponsors FNB Botswana.

The crowning moment at Gaborone United Stadium capped a campaign that drew thousands of supporters across the country and underscored the growing stature of the Premiership as a platform for talent and community pride.

FNB Botswana Chief Marketing Officer, Peo Porogo, congratulated the champions and highlighted the bank’s broader vision of sport as a driver of social and economic impact.

“We believe in creating opportunities that drive sports development while uplifting communities, inspiring young talent, and contributing to sustainable socio‑economic development,” she said.

“The FNB Premiership is a powerful example of our Grassroots to Greatness philosophy.”

Porogo added that the bank’s investment in football reflects its long‑standing commitment to shared prosperity, ensuring that the benefits of sport reach players, businesses, and communities nationwide.

The season’s conclusion reaffirmed the Premiership’s role in nurturing young athletes and uniting communities through football. The campaign will officially close with an awards ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
